The storyline focuses as he goes through his life dealing with angels and demons and the action-packed therein. Issei Hyodo is your average perverted high school student whose one wish in life is to have his own harem, but hes got to be one of the unluckiest guys around. This anime series has it all, from angels to demons to high school students and an awesome storyline that will keep you glued to your screens. You can hate them, but you cannot help but sympathize with them. A war between heaven and hell is raging on Earth - and hormonal fury is raging in. The reason that makes this series so popular is the unique characters that are not all black or white but grey. The good news for its fandom is that the fifth season will premiere sometime in December 2021, as per the latest updates. It is based on the light novel High School DxD written by Ichiei Ishibhumi and illustrated by Miyama Zero. If you liked 2 and are excited for 4, there's no good reason to skip 3, IMO.This one-of-a-kind action-comedy Japanese Anime Series titled High School DxD managed to create its fanbase when it was first released in 2012 and, over the years, has had four successful seasons. In hindsight, I don't think 3 was any worse than 2, it's just that each season had different problems. The final arc didn't ruin the season, and up until that point, the show still held onto its general shape, form, and pacing despite the liberal "cherrypicking" going on from the source. ![]() Yes, it played a bit fast and loose with the content and order of the source material it did adapt. Yes, it had problems, the largest of which was an anime-original final arc that felt really out of place even in the weird world of DxD. Season 3 isn't as bad as r/anime makes it out to be.
